Earthquake damage and a fiery plane collision in Japan
Japanese authorities are assessing the scale of the damage from a string of powerful earthquakes that hit the country’s northwest coast. At least 48 people were killed and thousands of buildings were damaged. An airliner that landed at a Tokyo airport also burst into flames after colliding with another plane on the runway.
